The Francis Magalona Foundation continues to grow its advocacy of Finding Meaning in the Filipino through the Born To Be a Hero Character Development Program.

Born To Be A Hero is the Philippines’ first online-based Character Development program which aids public high school students in making better life decisions. Supported by the Department of Education-NCR and The OneCORE, the program is designed to adapt character development and values education to the digital environment of the youth. This provides a fun, interesting and interactive way to equip oneself with real-life skills not taught in school but are equally important for success.

As of January 2013, we have already equipped over 300,000 public high schools in Makati, Marikina and Quezon City with skills and tools for a successful life.

FMF is looking for 1000 people to pledge PhP 500.00 a month for one year for the scholarship of 500,000 public high school students. We invite the friends and supporters of FrancisM and his family to support and join this cause.

	malaki na po na tulong ng one core..it start nung nasa school kayo that time Im facing different problems at school dahil ako ang president ngayong school year medyo napabayaan ko po ang academics at family nag focus ako sa leadership sa school and extra curricular . Over 200 students, faculty and staff of Kalumpang National High School in Marikina City participated in the Born To Be A Hero Talk last February 17, 2012.

The Born To Be a Hero program empowers the youth to harness their inner greatness and realize their potential. It features Coach Pia of the OneCORE Success Center. She discusses the importance of becoming a better person in all aspects of your life. Skills and tools are given to both teachers and students to help them become more aware of who they are, create opportunities for themselves and take concrete actions towards the life they envision for themselves and their loved ones. The program utilizes the music of FrancisM-familiar and iconic to the youth-as a tool to convey the message of Filipino Pride, personal integrity and commitment to positive change.

Last Jan 21, the Francis Magalona Foundation in partnership with the OneCORE Success Center conducted a Born To Be A Hero Talk at the Ateneo Alumni Association’s (AAA) Speaker’s Bureau entitled Positivity: Motivating a New You. Over a hundred persons-Ateneo alumni, students and guests participated.

Coach Pia shared tips on how to improve and make the most out of 2012. She discussed the the 5 Aspects of Life which are key to maintaining balance. This was followed by a sharing of the stories behind FrancisM’s hit songs Mga Kababayan and Kaleidoscope World by Pia Magalona, FMF President.

Christmas Cheer at Mano Amiga Academy

The Francis Magalona Foundation supports its partner the OneCORE Success Center in making the Filipino the best s/he can be!

Last December 17, OneCORE celebrated Christmas with the Grade 1 and 2 students of Mano Amiga Academy in Taguig City. Since July of 2011, the OneCORE Success Center has been conducting the Born To Be A Hero Program for the Grade 1 and 2 students of Mano Amiga Academy in Taguig City.

The afternoon began with a touching story on the true meaning of Christmas by Coach Trish Sumbingco. Fun holiday games were then hosted by Coach Pia Acevedo.

To make the party even more exciting, celebrity Mentalist Nomer Lasala showed some tricks that amazed the kids and the parents alike. They were also treated with a song and dance number by surprise guests, Elmo, Arkin and Clara Magalona joined by their mom, Pia.

The party ended with a simple merienda and gifts they could take home and enjoy during the holidays.
