In line with the celebration of Francis Magalona’s 47th birthday, the family of the King of Rap launches the Francis Magalona Foundationin his memory and to continue his legacy as the country loving citizen. Francis passed away in March 6, 2009 and he is the son of Tita Duran at Pancho Magalona, both entertainment icons in Philippine cinema. Being a proud Filipino, FrancisM in his 20 years of being a performer he touches every Filipino to embrace their culture and roots though his music and songs like Kabataan Para Sa Kinabukasan, Kaleidoscope World, Three Stars And A Sun, Mga Kababayan, and many more. Continuing his wife Pia, and daughter Maxene launches the Francis Magalona Foundation that aims to find the meaning in every Filipino though to understand their roots, blood and culture and to be proud of it.

The FMF partners with The OneCORE Success Center where they created programs to strengthen more the campaign of the organization. Programs include:

  • Born To Be A Hero Talks – this program aims to bring out Filipino pride, personal integrity and commitment to positive change. It is designed from the best-selling band life transforming book authored by Coach Pia Nazareno-Acevedo, the country’s leading Life Transitions Coach. The talk takes every participant to a journey to discover their inner greatness and capacity to be a hero for themselves and for others no matter the deeds is small or big.
  • My Survival Guide – In order to bring out Filipino pride, personal integrity and commitment to positive change a person must be equipped with the knowledge, skills and attitudes to be successful. This program empowers participants to live rooted in their core. It helps them cultivate deeper self awareness and by equipping them with skills to: articulate personal values, acquire confidence and certitude in one’s strengths, identify areas for personal, relationship and career growth, map out an action plan and develop a systematic and attainable strategy for success. With this program participants will live a life that they envision for themselves and for the country.
  • Emancipate – FrancisM and OneCore also believe in the idea that Filipinos should not be defined by their sexual orientation or their gender identity. With this program, the foundation empowers the rights of every member of the LGBTs (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Trangenders) to have a life of Filipino pride, personal integrity and a commitment to positive change. The main goal of this program is to deal with discrimination and hurtful relationships concerning the LGBTs, nurturing self-acceptance and self-confidence and strategizing for personal, relationship and career success.

In connection with the official launching of the foundation, the Francis M. Clothing, Co. (FMCC) presents Mga Kababayan! Find Meaning in the Filipino thanksgiving and anniversary concert for the benefit of Francis Magalona Foundation. The concert will take place on October 8, 2011, 10pm at the Zirkoh Bar in Tomas Morato, Quezon City. Joining the concert are siblings Frank, Maxene, Saab and Elmo Magalona, with Ogie Alcasid, King DJ Logan, DJ Marf, Jose, Wally, Raimund Marasigan, Michael V., and Ernville.
